Tell Number Six I Have His Book

A few years ago, I asked to borrow a book which wasn't on my neighborhood library shelf. So they borrowed it from another branch library here in OKC.
I was bemused to see the origin point for the book.
You may be sure I returned the book before its due date!  I didn't want a visit from Rover!

See you Monday!  Make sure to return all library books!

Three Times the Gimmick!

Yes, it's the third compilation of songs from the 1980s which have two words in the title.
Real profound, huh?  I thought I'd pick some two-word TV shows that ran in the Eighties,
But that was too much work, so I went back to the minimalist approach of only two-word phrases like wallpaper in the BG.  Here are the bi-vocable song selections:

01 - 80's Girl - Eric Blake - 1981  (2:50)

02 - Running Dog - Lo Tek - 1980  (1:19)

03 - Television Vision - The Sinceros - 1981  (2:44)

04 - Danger Games - The Pinkees - 1982  (2:55)

05 - Be Stiff - DEVO with Toni Basil - 1981  (3:24)

06 - Gimme Attention - Zro4 - 1980  (1:45)

07 - Napalm Springs - Vivabeat - 1982  (4:30)

08 - Designer Genes - Amoebas in Chaos - 1981  (1:29)

09 - Leather Complex - VS - 1980  (2:02)

10 - Mirror Mirror - Jimmy and the Boys - 1981  (2:06)

11 - Later Baby - The Dadistics - 1980  (3:14)

12 - Fade Out - Repetition - 1981  (4:36)

13 - Separate Rooms - The Boxboys - 1980  (3:13)

14 - World Destruction - Time Zone - 1984  (5:05)

15 - Happy Funeral - Kitchen and the Plastic Spoons - 1980  (3:07)

16 - TV Love - Simpletones - 1980  (1:35)

17 - Dead Sea - Spray Pals - 1982  (5:28)

18 - Female Trouble - Morbid Opera - 1986  (2:02)

19 - Bored Housewifes - Androids of Mu - 1980  (2:19)

20 - TV Party - Black Flag - 1981  (3:31)

21 - Bad Influence - Screamin' Rachael and Remote - 1980  (3:33)

22 - Baby Baby - The Impossible Years - 1981  (2:59)

23 - Duncan Dancin' - Non Band - 1982  (3:09)

24 - Negative Image - Crown Agent - 1981  (3:30)

25 - No Secrets - Missing Persons - 1986  (4:49)

From semi-lo-tech to pretty good production values, the songs' messages are in turn quaint, outrageous, sincere, and sarcastic.  Some get there message across in under two minutes.  Dive in, but don't forget your rubber suit and/or disinfectant hose-down afterwards.

25 - Please Believe Me - LMNOP - 1986  (2:21)

That kind of self-centered thinking can make you end up inside a self-generated singularity, like a mental and emotional black hole. And of course, that's the problem! GET YOUR MIND OFF YOURSELF!

Take a look at just the last two songs.  Who doesn't know a few people whose "I's" are way too close together!?!  And the last track is the unacknowledged theme song of every two-faced so-and-so (including a lot of elected folks).  "Please believe me when I say I'll never lie to you!  Please believe me when everything I say is a lie!"

https://www.filefactory.com/file/4676eujxvmv4/MA-189.rar

Well, I ain't lying when I say I hope you'll think these songs worth at least one listen. See you Thursday!

24 - The Right to Change - Nadieh   1986  (4:19)

Yes, while the kids of the Eighties were playing with things like Cabbage Patch dolls or Teddy Ruxpin, the rest of us were making fun of people who didn't know they were a pretentious trendy (Track 20). We wanted to be Beat Boys in the Jet Age (Track 14) while dreading white noise on the FM dial (Track 1).

The best of us have always maintained that people have the right to change (Track 24), and I hope that's the message you recall at the end of the 80-minute thrill ride!
