Those matte elements for making fake Oswald-in-the-backyard are very suspicious. Some trickery like what's described in the article is, IMO, surely what produced those pix. However, what bunch of stupid ne'er-do-well spies would leave the evidence behind? And leave it at the home of the guy they were framing?
All of us cynical types have always suspected that the "three tramps" were probably spooks, or even real bums who were paid to wander around the railroad area, so as to draw attention and resources from the actual crime, its perpetrator(s) onsite, and its cleanup.
