Moon-Day, Monday ... So Good to Me!

50 years ago, the paper of record, the Tulsa World, provided its coverage of the exciting Moon landing and Moon walks.

I only kept the front page, not the whole section.  Boy, how exhilarating it was to be an American kid those days!

And a Brit won a wager over the timing of our Moon landing.

My favorite note is pointing out that the staid, official Tulsa World staff had a sense of humor amidst the celebration and seriousness.

Look at the date slug.  What day of the week it is?  Why, it's MOON-DAY!

Visit My Friend Herbie J Pilato!

Howdy campers.  Last year I was privileged to edit Mary, by Herbie J Pilato.  In my doings with Herbie J, I found him to be a nice guy, who loves pop culture (especially ’60s TV).



Herbie J has an interview show called Then Again with Herbie J Pilato, in which he talks to some stars of our favorite TV shows.

Now, I’ve seen a couple of episodes, and they’re lots o’ fun.  Herbie J probes a little with guests who aren’t chatty.  When a guest wants to tell a story, he sits back and lets ’em roll.  He’s a good stand-in for all TV fans who want to get to know the stars better.

My Flying Saucer Blueprints

In honor of Kenneth Arnold's seminal saucer sighting on June 24, 1947, here are some floorplans for saucers, drawn by my twelve-year-old self in 1969.

 By the way, my handwriting at twelve is much better than the current vintage.

Recently unearthed in the attic, and now immortalized in electrons!  Pretty silly, eh?
